The heat of the battle is coming to the heart of Ohio! Mark your calendars because Saturday, August 26th, isn’t just another day. It’s the day our gladiators descend upon Columbus for the next electrifying NAOL tournament.
Venue: Heroes and Games, nestled inside the magnificent Greater Columbus Convention Center.
For those of you following the pulse of the NAOL scene, you’d know Phil “The Strangler” Miller clinched victory in Oklahoma. Then came Niagara Falls, where Phil “The King” Keffer lived up to his title and seized the throne. However, a quick heads-up: The King won’t be defending his crown in Columbus. That’s right, Phil Keffer won’t be attending this round, which means the throne is up for grabs! 🌊👑
Official Statement
The OP Cup Main Event will start at 10am sharp on Saturday August 26th. The entry fee is $75usD. All entry fees go to the prize pool. We will run 7 rounds of Swiss with the top 8 moving on to a single elimination format for the finals. Those not reaching the top 8 from the Swiss will be automatically entered into a Consolation single elimination.
The top three players will each receive a cash prize using a 60-30-10 split. 4-8 will have their choice from the prize table. The top two players in the Consolation bracket will each receive a cash prize.
We would ask that entrants complete their registration and pay their fees on Friday. It makes the tournament organizer’s life much easier and helps us get the tournament started on time.
Those competing in the Masters Series will need to pay an additional $10us when registering. Masters Series decks will be validated by an impartial party on Saturday morning between 9-10.
This is a rated tournament. All entrants must check-in using Challonge before the tournament can begin. We will open the check-in period starting at noon on Friday August 25th.
Late registration will be accepted on Saturday morning from 9 until 9:45.
A quick refresher on the rules: Seven rounds of intense Swiss action, before we slice the battlefield to the top eight players. And remember warriors some of the players are competing in the masters series, so for them the Cadillac deck is off the table. So they will have to strategize without its might. ⚔️
